Than core 2010 today’s CPUs
We have some great info to share about Ivy Bridge 22nm CPU and the Chief River platform, which is scheduled to appear in 1H 2012.

Intel now claims that the new CPU and its integrated graphics can process media up to 4X faster. Intel calls this Quick Sync Video and some internal testing revealed that it can be significantly faster in creating and editing of your home videos.

Intel used Cyberlink Media Espresso 6 as a universal medial converter and they tested transcoding of 449MB file in 1920x1080 MPEG 2 video to a smaller 640x360 H.264 MPEG-4 video. The test finished four times faster than with Core 2010. This was actually transcoding from MPEG 2 to MPEG-4 but at the same time, the rendered file was much smaller as it was intended for iPhone and iPod Touch viewing.

Still, you can see that the media processor of Ivy Bridge graphics with its DirectX 11 support can transcode significantly faster and we are sure that people who record, edit and share their video work with the rest of the online addicts will appreciate it.
