Sonic 4 Episode 2 is confirmed

Written by David Stellmack

First release was successful for another
The real retro downloadable Sonic 4 played very much like an improved and updated retro sequel. Since Sonic 4 Episode 1 did as well as was expected we are now told that the Sonic Team is hard at work on Sonic 4 Episode 2, which will apparently arrive in 2012; but no release date was confirmed.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Takashi Ikuza confirmed a release of Episode 2 for 2012, and Episode 2 was always supposed to follow the other Sonic title which is called Generations. Apparently, he does not have any idea if there is going to be an Episode 3 or not. We suspect it will depend on the sales numbers.

While there is no release date and the future for the blue fury seems hazy beyond Episode 2, we have to believe that we have not seen the last of the Sega cash cow, if you know we mean.

Read more on Episode 2 here.
