100GB of flash paired up with 1TB HDD
First seen back at Computex early this year, OCZ's RevoDrive Hybrid is now officially announced and should find its way to retail/e-tail shelves pretty soon with a suggested price set at US $499.

Five Benjamin's gets you OCZ's take on a hybrid drive that pairs up a 100GB SSD with a 1TB HDD on a PCI-Express card. Although it costs a bit more than a 120GB SSD and 1TB HDD, OCZ's RevoDrive Hybrid promises impressive transfer speeds of up 910MB/s and 120k IOPS for 4k random write. Thanks to the bundled Dataplex caching software, OCZ's RevoDrive Hybrid puts most frequently used files on SSD while, so called, "cold" data remains on the HDD.

The new RevoDrive Hybrid 1TB is backed by a three-year warranty and as noted, should be avialable in stores pretty soon with a MSRP set at US $499.99. Hopefully, the previously seen 60GB SSD + 500GB HDD version will show up as well with a somehwat lower price tag.
