Transformer 2, or whatever Asus calls its Tegra 3 based next generation Transformer tablet is coming on November 9th.

In Europe this date spells much like 911 as we write days then month and year in most parts. Well Asus
obviously didn't considered that and its

Asus chairman Johnny Shih announced the launch at the AsiaD conference, so it’s pretty safe to assume that this is the roughly the launch window for the new Tegra 3 based processor as well.

He calls it Transformer Prime, and is proud to tell the world that the new tablet is just 8.3mm thick, which is some 0.3 millimetre thinner than Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Shih has confirmed the quad-core Nvidia chipset, 10-inch format, USB and mini HDMI connectivity, along with and SD port for expansion. This doesn't come as a surprise as the old Transformer has all that, with an exception of quad core CPU.

Johnny Shih also motioned that PadPhone, a phone that plugs in to tablet goes to carrier testing around Q1 2012 and will have Ice Cream Sandwich on it. He also mentioned that the original Transformer might get an Ice Cream Sandwich update before the end of the year, which is good news for current users.
