Command & Conquer: Generals 2 confirmed

BioWare to be at the helm powered by Frostbite 2

Rumors of the possibility of a new Command & Conquer title in the franchise have been circulating for quite some time. At the VGAs, Electronic Arts confirmed that Command & Conquer: Generals 2 is in development with BioWare at the helm.

Actually, while BioWare is behind the new entry in the franchise, it is being handled by a new BioWare studio called BioWare Victory. This studio actually used to be Victory Games, but has since joined the BioWare family.

The way that we are reading the plans is that Command & Conquer: Generals 2 will be a Frostbite 2 powered console title, while plans for a PC-only exclusive title are still happening. It is suspected that this PC-only C&C title will also be powered by Frostbite 2. (Look for Frostbite 2 to be the development platform for many EA titles going forward.)

c&c generals 2 looks AWESOME with frostbite 2 engine.

It's like battlefield 3 for the RTS = WIN

Though release 2013 could mean xbox720 and ps4 release too?

It is good to see that Generals is back I'll quite liked it. A lot of people just didn't get it sarcasm when it came out and therefore it got quite some heat.

At this point they seems dedicated to debasing the Bioware name as much as possible.

Step 1: re-brand all studios to "Bioware-XXXX"
Step 2:???
Step 3: Profit

EA, where brand value goes to die. Although we will certainly have some nice Facebook tie-in games.

The 720 and PS4 don't come out till 2014. If even then. I would have expected to hear something about them by now.

All I can find are rumors. That and some fake photos of prototypes.

Who cares about ps4 or xbox 720, frostbite 2 is one of the best looking engines out there for the pc! And RTS games are way better on the pc.
This game will be on current console gen ! By then 512 bit kepler gpu will be out. Who wants to bet nvidia will want to put there name on the label, and bundle this game with it.

Fyi the pc market did way better than console market in november.

The game comes out in 2013, not the 720/PS4 consoles, the game is PC only.
