Written by David Stellmack

Looking like it will be a big month for DLC

The first map pack for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has now been confirmed for release on January 24th on Xbox 360. While the map packs will be the big focus for this release, the DLC content will also include missions and some other new things players have not seen before. The news was announced on Elite to Elite subscribers first, so it looks like this is another benefit of having Elite.

Gears of War 3 will also be getting its next DLC pack called Fenix Rising which is slated to arrive on January 17th. Fenix Rising will be a map pack that adds five new maps which makes up the bulk of the content, and will cost 800 Microsoft Points unless you are a season pass subscriber. In addition, Fenix Rising will include new character skins as well as the new experience system called Re-Up.

Word is that several other DLC packs are also going to be released in January, so it will be a good way to spend those extra dollars that you received for Xmas.
