Sega confirms Sonic 4 Episode II

Written by David Stellmack

Finally, after a long wait

Sega has confirmed that the second episode of Sonic 4 will finally be released in 2012. With more than a year passing after the first digital-only release of the first episode of Sonic 4, the game will continue the journey started in the first episode. The game will again feature retro-style Sonic game play with updated HD graphics.

The game will again be a digital download-only release and it is currently scheduled for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 7. No price has yet been determined, but we expect Episode II to be priced about the same as Episode I, according to sources we spoke with.

While the teaser trailer that was released to promote the announcement does not give much away, it does show the fact that Metal Sonic and Tails the fox will be included in Episode II. No actual specifics were announced as to a specific release date, but we will see it at some point during 2012.
