Likely a high-end, browser-based offering

Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter let it be known via his twitter feed that he has been contacted about creating a game based on the Sons of Anarchy TV series by a major gaming company. He confirmed that he will soon be taking meetings to look at the project and figure out the costs, platform and timing.

When news of a possible open world title based on the motorcycle club TV series was first announced, many fans were excited about the possibility. Later, Sutter clarified that to do a quality console title would take tens of millions of dollars and years to build. He went on to say that they were instead toying with the idea of a high-end, browser-based title. This news really let the air out of something that could have been really good.

Most fans admit that they don’t care if it takes time and money, they would like to see a GTA style open world title based around the MC and the fictional community of Charming where the show takes place. A Rockstar-style offering based on the Sons would be incredible, based on what Rockstar has done with Lost and the Damned add-ons for GTA IV. It now appears unlikely that we are going to see anything even close to this.

This is too bad; we suspect it would have done very well.
