Floridian arrested over Facebook threat against Obama

Too bad J.W. Boothe and Oswald did not have Facebook

Authorities have filed charges against a 20-year-old Floridian who threatened to kill US President Barack Obama during his visit to the University of Miami.

Joaquin Serrapio posted several Facebook statuses claiming that he would try to “put a bullet through” Obama’s head.

One of the last posts read: "If anyones going to UM to see obama today, get ur phones out an record. Cause at any moment im gonna put a bullet through his head and u don't wanna miss that! Youtube!"

Serrapio also challenged Secret Service to “come looking for him” which they eventually did last Thursday. Investigators did not find any weapons at Serrapio’s home, apart from a couple airsoft pellet guns, which seems to indicate that he could not even handle a paintball marker, let alone a proper gun.

Oddly enough, Serrapio has a pretty big internet footprint, so he does not seem to fit the secretive lone-nut profile. He headed a local cover band, wrote some songs on the side and judging by the looks of it, he knew his way around a guitar.

However, his tweets painted a less flattering image. He often used the n-word when talking about Obama, he moaned about the lack of “genuine” churches in Miami, mocked Martin Luther King and expressed his admiration for Abraham Lincoln's assassin John Wilkes Boothe. In addition he frequented fan pages for Glen Beck, Sarah Palin, Bill O’Riley, Mike Huckabee, but lately he shifted to libertarian views.
