ICS update scheduled for summer
new Eluga handset is set to launch in Europe in April and the Japanese market will get its first taste of Panasonic’s stylish Android phone on Mach 29. However, a quick glance at out price search engine reveals that European retailers expect to start shipping the Eluga in the last week of April, so we are still more than a month away.
Although Panasonic is a newcomer to the Android party, the Eluga seems like a pretty nifty little phone. It features a 4.3-inch 960x540 screen, dual core TI OMAP 4430 processor at 1GHz, 8GB of storage and 8MP camera, all packed in a sleek water and dust resistant body. It measures 123x62x7.8mm and weighs in at just 103g.
The asking price is €399 and if you still want more, Panasonic is planning to introduce the Eluga Power, powerhouse with a 5-inch 720p screen and 1.5GHz processor, but we still don't have a launch date for the Power. For the time being the Eluga will launch with Gingerbread, but an ICS update is promised for the summer.
