The smartphone in question is the LG Viper, which will officially become Sprint's first 4G LTE device. Sprint announced on Tuesday that pre-orders for the handset will officially begin Thursday, April 12, with the phone becoming available on an unspecified date later this month.
LG's Viper 4G LTE LS840 features a 4.0-inch capacitive multitouch display with 480 x 800 resolution and ~233 ppi pixel density, a 1.2GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and runs the Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The device also sports a Near-Field Communication (NFC) chip for mobile payments and device-to-device data transfers, a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and geotagging (unsure whether it supports 720p or 1080p video capture), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n for continuous connectivity and a 4G LTE talk time of 7 hours with a single charge (Lithium-Ion 1700mAh battery).
