Skyrim update to add voice commands

Written by David Stellmack

Apparently only for Xbox 360 Kinect owners

An update is coming for Skyrim that will add over 200 voice commands that Xbox 360 owners with Kinect will be able to use when a free update arrives later this month. While we had heard rumors that Kinect voice control was a possibility, when it didn’t arrive at the game’s release everyone thought it was probably dead.

The surprising news of the update will allow Kinect owners to use their voice to command Dragon Shouts, Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menu commands such as Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favorites, and Skills.

In addition, players will have the ability to create load saves during actual game play, as well as take advantage of new added Kinect voice functionality. A full list of voice commands is coming in the weeks ahead. This is certainly a nice bonus for those who happen to have the Xbox 360 version with Kinect. Sources tell us that it is doubtful that a PS3 or PC update will be released that adds voice command functionality; however, with the PC getting Kinect support we would not rule it out.
