Codemasters changes name & focus

Will now focus only on racing titles

Codemasters has announced that they will be changing the name of their company to better align it with the new “razor focus” the developer now has on only racing titles. Going forward, the company will be known as Codemasters Racing, which signals the end of the company trying to move into other areas beyond racing games.

Codemasters is unique among developers of racing titles, as it actually has three major racing franchises it is able to work with: the Official Formula One franchise, the DiRT franchise, and the GRID franchise. The expansion of these franchises into new areas, as well as delivering the games within these franchises, will be the focal point for Codemasters Racing.

Codemasters Racing will become the single best symbol of quality for players seeking to play best-in-class racing titles. Future titles will all be launched under the Codemasters Racing banner. The next game up for Codemasters Racing release will be DiRT Showdown, which is an offshoot from the DiRT rally series that has been a mainstay for Codemasters for many years.
