ToeJam & Earl coming for 360/PS3?

by on25 July 2012

SEGA will not confirm if this is the case

The beloved hit of ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Fukotron is rumored to have been selected by SEGA for conversion and release on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as part the company’s Vintage Collection. SEGA has been re-releasing a number of titles that have been ported over and converted to both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms under its Vintage Collection releases.

While the finding of this tip from our sources as likely selection for release by SEGA as part of the Vintage Collection, the company isn’t apparently ready to talk about it and has nothing to announce at this time.

Sources also indicate that the company is preparing a second SEGA Vintage collection disc that it plans to release this holiday season. In addition, whispers indicate that we should expect a second Dreamcast Collection (Volume 2) to arrive before the end of the year, and our source also says that SEGA is apparently planning the release of a Saturn Collection for release at some point next year.

While all of this remains unconfirmed by SEGA, it would seem a logical path for the company to explore, depending on how successful the last Dreamcast Collection release was. Between the news of more Vintage releases and SEGA talking about the potential to tap into releasing a number of its older titles, we think it is pretty accurate.
