HTC to announce three Apollo phones next month

by on10 August 2012

Third week of September

HTC is apparently planning to announce its first Windows Phone 8 handsets at an event scheduled for the third week of September.

The actual phones were leaked a couple of months back and it seems HTC aims to go on a three-pronged attack, much like with its One series in the Android space.

The entry level device is codenamed Rio and it will feature a 4-inch WVGA display, 5-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM, all powered by an MSM8227 processor. The mid range is reserved for the Accord, a 4.3-incher with an 8-megapixel camera, 1GB of memory and a faster MSM8260A processor.

HTC’s Windows Phone 8 flagship is the Zenith, a 4.7-inch beast with an 8-megapixel camera and an even faster processor, possibly even a Snapdragon Pro quad-core.
