Gigabyte is joining the Eee lynch mob with its M912, an 8.9-inch Atom powered netbook.
According to Digitimes, which cites channel sources, the new machine should launch in early June. It is being developed in-house, which should allow Gigabyte more flexibility and it will ship with XP or Vista.
This summer is promising to be a very hot one as far as the ultra portable, or should we say netbook market is concerned. Apart from Gigabyte we're awaiting several Atom-based netbooks from Acer, MSI and some other companies, as well as an Atom Eee PC from Asus.
Hopefully, this will precipitate a small but dirty price war, much to our amusement.
