Xbox 360 to get Diablo 3 as expected

Written by David Stellmack

September release date is confirmed

While we knew that Diablo 3 was hitting the consoles, it had only been announced for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 4. We always thought that this would not stand, however, and we have been proved right; Blizzard has confirmed the release of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Diablo 3 for September 3rd, 2013.

While the release date for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are now set, we still don’t know what the timetable is for the PlayStation 4 release. While we know that additional enhancements are planned for the PlayStation 4 release, we expect that these enhancements are part of the reason that we don’t have a release date yet for the PlayStation 4 version. Still, it is expected that it will arrive for the PS4 after its release (of course), but before the end of the year.

What we still don’t know is if the Xbox One will also be getting Diablo 3. So far, Blizzard has had no direct comment, but given the situation we do think that while the PS4 release might be a timed exclusive. So far, however, Blizzard has not confirmed this, either. Our best guess from the sources we have spoken with is that the Xbox One will get Diablo 3 at some point, but it is hard to say if it will be the same time that the PS4 owners will get it.
