by on19 August 2013

Part of EVGA's Platinum Series

EVGA has announced the new EVGA SuperNova 1000 P2 power supply unit that will be a part of its Platinum Series. In addition to the 80 PLUS Platinum rating, the new EVGA SuperNova 1000 P2 is based on a single-rail design and comes with Dual Thermal control system, high amperage single-rail design, fully modular cable design and bunch of other feature that you would expect from a high-end PSU.

The new EVGA SuperNova 1000 P2 PSU features an 80 PLUS Platinum rating so it has an efficiency of up to 92 percent under typical loads (50 percent load). It also features "superior vertical double layer main transformer", uses Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con solid state capacitors for improved long-term reliability and features built-in over power, under power, over voltage and short circuit protections.

The new EVGA SuperNova 1000 P2 PSU is based on a high amperage single-rail design and provides up to 83.3Amps on a +12V rail. It features a fully modular cable desing for improved airflow and easier cable management. The PSU is cooled by a single bottom placed fan with the new ECO Intelligent Thermal Control system with zero fan noise at temperatures below 45°C.

In case you are wondering it comes with six 6+2-pin and two 6-pin PCI-Express power connectors, ten SATA, five Molex and single floppy connector, in addition to 24-pin ATX and two 4+4-pin EPS12V connectors.

As expected, the new EVGA SuperNova 1000 P2 PSU is backed by 10-years of warranty. Unfortunately, EVGA did not shed any light regarding the availability date or the precise price but since the EVGA SuperNova 1000 G2 currently sells for €199,90/US$189.99 we guess that Platinum series will go for quite a bit over that.
