More Tegra 4 phones coming

Written by Fuad Abazovic

Says Nvidia

We spent some time in Nvidia’s headquarters talking to a few people and despite the fact that the Tegra team didn’t want to talk about the rumoured Tegra 7-inch tablet, they did tell us something interesting.

Despite the fact that some cool tablets based on Tegra 4 are out, including the HP Slate X2, Toshiba Excite Pro, Cobo tablet as well as Asus Transformer pad TF701T there will be more design wins.

Matt Wuebbling director of product marketing has mentioned some cool design wins such as Tegra 4 Xiaomi $199 (2000 Yuan) phone, but more importantly he told us that there will be more phones on the way. Of course he didn’t go into details but he said that some of them will launch in the coming months.

Despite the fact that the company is working hard on Logan based products with Kepler graphics, we will see more Tegra 4 tablets, phones and detachables. This is the general feeling at Nvidia.

In the phone business Nvidia has to wait for companies to announce the new designs on its own and obviously they can’t about unannounced products. Matt thinks that Xiaomi Mi3 is a great showcase of Tegra 4 capabilities and we think that this is a very impressive phone considering the price.
