Free trial of Kinect Sports Rivals coming at launch

Written by David Stellmack

Preseason version of the delayed launch title

Microsoft has confirmed that they will be offering, what they are calling “Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason” which is a downloadable trail version of the delayed Kinect Sports Rivals. The Preseason version will offer Wake Racing sport which is a jet ski game that will be included with the full release. The Preseason version will offer in-game rewards and multiplayer challenges that will be updated monthly through March of 2014.

Those that download Preseason between November 22nd and 30th will unlock special bonuses such as the founders player title, themed wetsuit, and a wake racer. Perhaps the biggest fun is that players will have the ability to challenge digital versions of Major Nelson and AceyBongos.

The full Kinect Sports Rivals is still on track for a release in the spring of 2014. The full game will include climbing, wake racing, soccer, target shooting, bowling, and tennis. In addition a Kinect Sports Hub will be available for download which will help you keep up with all of the goings on in the world of Kinect Sports this includes both the global and local challenges.

It still isn’t clear as to why the title was initially delayed. Sources say that it simply was not ready for release and it is as simple as that. The release of the Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason offering should prove interesting.
