Samsung has announced its newest Samsung 840 EVO mSATA SSDs that will be available in capacities of up to 1TB and offer read and write performance of up to 540/520 MB/s.

Based on Samsung's own controller with TurboWrite technology and 128Gb 1x-nm NAND flash memory, the new 840 EVO mSATA will bring the same desktop PC-class high storage volume and performance to ultra-slim notebooks and other devices with mSATA storage. Delivering sequential read and write performance of up to 540MB/s and 520MB/s as well as 4K random performance of up to 98,000 IOPS and 90,000 IOPS, the new Samsung EVO 840 mSATA packs quite a punch considering it is aimed at ultra-slim notebooks.

The new Samsung 840 EVO mSATA SSD series will be available in 120GB, 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities. Unfortunately, Samsung did not reveal any details regarding the precise release date or the price of the new Samsung 840 EVO mSATA lineup.
