Rebooted Gauntlet coming this September

Warner Bros Interactive has a new initiative called the “WB Games Vault” which is a new direct-to-digital release program. The aim of WB Games Vault will be to deliver paid games based on Warner Bros. and Midway brands as well as new IP across multiple release outlets. (These are said to include all of the digital release outlets for a variety of platforms.)

The first title in this program will be a Gauntlet reboot by Arrowhead Games Studios. The new Gauntlet will be released on Steam later this Summer. The Gauntlet reboot will feature a totally 3D/2D retooled graphics while keeping true to the spirit of the original game. From the video we saw it looks amazing.

While the exact release date has not been confirmed beyond saying that it will arrive on September 3rd, no price has been given as what we can expect to pay for the new Gauntlet as well as other new games in the WB Games Vault. While Warner says that they will be all about direct-to-digital with this releases, only a Steam release was announced so it is unknown if you will be able to play the new Gauntlet on consoles in the near future.
