Eight inches for $199

Chinese maker of the Think Pad Lenovo has launched its first Intel-based Android tablet.

Dubbed the Lenovo Tab S8 the new tablet takes the small form factor, with an 8-inch display. The display has a dull 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. What makes the Lenovo Tab S8 interesting is its $199 price tag.

It will launch running Android 4.4 KitKat and the internal 4290mAh battery is said to give you 7 hours of use.

Curiously, Lenovo has opted for an Intel Atom Z3745 processor with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage. Intel chips are rare on Android machines, particularly those which are being pitched at the budget conscious.

There is a pair of cameras in place with 8-megapixels on the rear and 1.6-megapixels on the front and the Tab S8 has Dolby dual front speakers.

There will be LTE and Wi-Fi only versions of the tablet that measures 209.8 x 123.8 x 7.9mm and weighs 299g.
