Xbox One controller heading to PC

by on18 September 2014

Later this year as promised previously

Microsoft will fulfill its promise to release the Xbox One controller for the PC later this year as promised. The Xbox One controller for PC will be getting a SKU that is identical to the controller for the Xbox One.

In June Microsoft released a driver for the Xbox One controller and at some point in November you will be able to purchase the Xbox One controller for the PC. The PC version will include a battery pack and USB cable that is necessary for connection to your Windows 7 or Windows 8 PC.

So far Microsoft has said nothing about the possibility of enabling the wireless for use on the PC. So for the time being it will continue to be connected using a USB cable. The good news is however that you can use the controller wirelessly with your Xbox One by disconnecting the cable and syncing the controller with your Xbox One.

When it arrives on dealer shelves in November it is expected to retail for $59.99.
