Ubisoft loses Jade Raymond

by on21 October 2014

She will be pursuing new opportunities

Ten year Ubisoft veteran producer Jade Raymond is leaving Ubisoft. In what started as a quiet rumor, quickly picked up steam as the day wore on with Ubisoft confirming her pending departure.

For those that don’t know Raymond by name, if you are a video gamer, it is likely you have played some of the games she has been involved with. Raymond was the producer on Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell: Blacklist and one of the founding members of Ubisoft Toronto. She is among the most well-known and listened to female figures in the video game industry.

While Raymond will not say what she is doing next, we believe however that she intends to stay in the video game industry and rumors are swirling about the possible destinations where she could land. (Our money is at Microsoft with a new studio she will be heading up!) She frames it as pursuing new ambitions and new opportunities.

Raymond will be passing the leadership of Ubisoft Toronto over to Alex Parizeau and she will be leaving at the end of the month from our understanding and we wish her much success.
