Apple Q3 figures show iPads continue to slide

Apple depends on its iPhone

Apple’s dependence on iPhone sales is becoming more obvious, as sales of the iPad slump. The fruity cargo cult saw its iPad sales fall for the third quarter running, signally that the market is drying up. Sales fell 7 percent from the previous quarter to 12.3 million units, and were down 13 percent from the year-ago period.

On a positive note, interest in the iMac is picking up, indicating that people were only buying tablets because their PCs were working rather well and they did not need a new one. Jobs’ Mob saw a 16 percent jump in iPhone sales, as people rushed to buy a phone which they could bend. This created a revenue of $63.5 billion to $66.5 billion in the December quarter.

The lack of interest in the Tablets place Apple in a dodgy position. It means that the company still depends on the iPhone, and it is a market which many believe will ultimately be unsustainable. Orders for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus began in September, helping Apple chalk up a 12.2 percent jump in revenue last quarter to $42.12 billion.
