Young Microsofty goes missing

by on22 October 2014

Manhunt under way

There are fears for the safety of a young Microsoft employee who has vanished. Krishna Venkatesh, 27, was last seen on Wednesday October 15th at the Microsoft Redmond campus. Venkatesh’s Toyota Corolla was found at a parking lot at Deception Pass State Park, a missing persons search is now underway.

According to close friends of Venkatesh, there was nothing unusual found on or inside the car. The Island County Sherriff’s Department and the Seattle Police Department are now involved and working on the case, with local authorities set to aid as well. Attempts have been made to obtain data from Venkatesh’s smartphone via T-Mobile but that recorded his last known location near where his car was found.

Meanwhile Microsoft employees have put together a poster which is currently being distributed in the hope of finding out what happened. Cellphone data show his last GPS location near Deception Pass, where his car was found at the south bridge parking lot Monday afternoon. His phone has since died or is turned off, but he always has at least two chargers, his friends said.

Microsoft and his friends said they have “absolutely no clue what happened” to Venkatesh. Nothing he said seemed alarming and he went to a trivia night with co-workers the Tuesday before his disappearance.

He had no history of mental illness and there was no sign of him being in any mental distress at all, which was why the police are concerned. Apparently, night-time flits after work are also uncharacteristic. It was raining and dangerous and no one knew why he would drive up to the park.
