2015 Release schedule is crowded

by on04 November 2014

Microsoft could move release dates around

Speaking to Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb in his latest podcast, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer admits that the line-up for Xbox One in 2015 is pretty crowded and they might just purposely try to move some things around to spread it out.

Spencer says that it isn’t “hype” at all as he isn’t honestly sure that they can actually ship all of the stuff that is scheduled to ship next fall. Some of the big titles that we already know are due next year include Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Quantum Break, the new Crackdown, and Scalebound. All of these titles have a fall 2015 launch window at the moment.

Besides the fall, Spencer said that a lot of good opportunities throughout the rest of the year still exist for the Xbox One. Spencer went on to say what we have all learned in this business is that stacking releases close together or on the same day as other titles can lead to major sales issues and this is especially true for those lesser known titles.

Looks like 2015 is going to finally bring the avalanche of titles that Xbox One owners have been waiting for.
