Intel Mooresfield, USB Type-C, Lollipop

Nokia has announced its first Android tablet and when we say Nokia, we don’t mean Microsoft. The Nokia N1 was designed and developed by the Finnish company, or what’s left of if after Microsoft bought the mobile business.

The device itself sports a 7.9-inch 2048x1536 display, Gorilla Glass 3 and is powered by a quad-core Atom Z3580 clocked at up to 2.3GHz, backed by PowerVR G6430 graphics. The tablet sports 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, along with a 5300mAh battery, 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front snapper.

Not too shabby at all. The Mooresfield chip should good performance and the rest of the spec is just as good. There are a few small but nonetheless interesting bits, too, such as a reversible Micro USB Type-C connector and 0.5W speakers.

The N1 will be manufactured by Nokia and should go on sale early next year at $249, which sounds like a reasonable price considering the spec.
