Keyboard dream come true

After a year of speculations, rumors and putting the Optimus in Vaporware Awards with Airbus A380 and Duke Nukem Forever, guys from Art Lebedev Studio proved them wrong. They are working hard to get the product ready, and as we hear there will be a working model of its keyboard at CeBit, and the final product should come at the end of this year.

Art Lebedev Studio is a privately held company from Russia, founded in 1995., that does industrial design, graphic design, web design and interface engineering. Optimus is an idea of a keyboard that has OLED screens as keys, so u can actually change the look or use of the keys in any way u want. Like maybe u like to work in Photoshop, or to play Quake.

Another news about Optimus is that all the keys will be user-changeable, so you can pick from three type of keys. First one are with OLED screens, then there are Back-lit keys and standard plastic keys. They will be sold separately so Optimus will be upgradeable. For easier handling of stock there will be only three kinds of key sizes, regular, middle-sized and double-sized keys and of course a space bar.

This will surely be one thing not to miss on this CeBit, and we will be there.
