Said to be largest Xbox campaign yet

So, you drop your prices a bit and sales are up. What do you do next?

If you are Microsoft, you launch the largest media blitz in the history of the Xbox, Xbox 360, or even Halo 3 in an effort to get the word out that you have consoles to sell this holiday season.

Microsoft will celebrate their recent upturn in sales by launching the new “Live Your Moment” campaign to get the word out about their price drops, and to attract attention to the Xbox 360 this holiday season in an effort to boost sales over rivals, Sony and Nintendo.

In the sample spot that we saw, the focus was on the lovely female in the ad dreaming her fantasy of living her rock and roll dreams through Rock Band. Of course, the big hard sell was at the end, when the ad announces that the Xbox 360 is available and now starting at $199.

Microsoft seems to be keeping its foot on the pedal with full speed ahead into the holiday selling season. As we told you last week, retailers are very optimistic about the sales potential of the Xbox 360 this season; and a big ad blitz by Microsoft should help crank up the desire for the Xbox 360. So far, we have no news on plans for Sony and Nintendo to respond with big ad buys of their own, but we suspect that they will push using a media blitz of their own before the holiday retail sales push gets underway.
