No plans for anything additional in 2008

Well, it now seems that Apple has backed away from plans to launch any additional products this holiday season. Apple is now claiming that their holiday line-up is set and they do not plan to launch any additional productions this year.

The news comes as somewhat of a surprise, since multiple trusted sources had been telling us that the plan was to launch an updated iMac and Mac Mini product for the holiday season. It is now believed that given the current market conditions that Apple has decided to let things ride until MacWorld to be held in San Francisco in January 2009 shortly before the Consumer Electronics Show.

We continue to put the squeeze on our Apple sources who insist that Apple continues to work on the revised versions of the iMac and Mac Mini. At this point we are left scratching our heads at the possible reason for the delay if this is in fact nothing more than a move to launch at MacWorld.

We have not been able to confirm the possibility of component availability issues, but suspect that it has more to do with it being a timing and money thing than anything else. Of course, maybe Apple is just making so much money in other spaces that it does not need to launch any new products for the holiday season.
