VIA was also showing off its new UMPC design and although this is only a prototype, expect to see something like this appear shortly from a well know computer manufacturer.
It weighs around 850 grams and should give you between four and five hours battery life. The little device you see next to the display is a modular option and two different moduless were shown. The one pictured below has a Bluetooth handset for VoIP calls and the other module was a digital clock with some extra features.
The UMPC itself is powered by a 1GHz VIA C7-M ULV CPU and the VIA VX700 chipset. It had a DVI connector, a card reader, a couple of USB ports and audio jacks. The keyboard was quite small and the demo units only had 800x600 displays, but production models are likely to differ. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are of course built in.
It's not going to play high definition video, nor will it play 3D games, but it's a nice compromise between mobility and power.
