Rumors of the date and some things will not die

Our sources told us that Apple would refresh its desktop product line at an event on March 4th, but as we all know Apple didn’t do that. Now our sources are coming back to us telling us that they got it wrong the first time around and now they are saying that Apple will indeed have an event on the 24th, but it will be focused on software.

While Final Cut Studio is in internal beta and the Pro apps could use a refresh, we find it unlikely that Apple would be doing a software launch event unless they had something new to announce that was big. Some sources are suggesting that it could be the official launch of Snow Leopard, but we find that also unlikely.

While speculation is certainly back on as far as what Apple could be planning for the 24th of March, at this point we can’t help but feel that it could be nothing more than a Trojan horse put out there by Apple to throw us off track from what their true plans might in fact be. It could be something, as this many people mentioning the same date surrounding a company is certainly unusual, to say the least.
