Likely to arrive in early August

RIM has plans for the Gemini or BlackBerry Curve 8520 to eventually be available in a variety of colors as they have done with other BlackBerry models in the past. As for the Curve 8520, it would appear that it will actually arrive in silver in early August.

Despite what other source are reporting, it will arrive in silver, not white, on T-Mobile in the U.S. first to go along with the black colored version that has been already released. Functionally, it will be the same as the black version of the 8520 and only the color has changed.

RIM seems to have learned along the way that releasing BlackBerry devices in different colors with different carriers is quite popular, as users like the ability to have something different from just the standard black to choose from. In the past, the variety of vibrant colors that RIM has offered has been quite interesting. What we would really like to know is who at RIM is making these color choices, as sometimes the choice of released colors boggles the mind. From what our sources tell us, however, the choice of colors often has more to do with the carriers’ requests than it does with RIM’s color selection.
