Forrester Research says that companies were starting to get greener but only when it saves them money.

Analyst Christopher Mines said that chief investment officers polled by Forrester said they were concerned about the impact their company was having on the environment, although few were doing much about it.

Mines said that there was was a high-level awareness and low-level activity. But companies were starting to feed into the growing concern.

Intel, HP, IBM, and AMD are selling servers and server components that require less power _ and thus less money to operate.

Mines said those companies that were trying to win goodwill to enhance their brand by showing cost-savings were doing the best.
