Even when SAP admitted hacking

Oracle will have a job to prove that SAP stole its software even though the company has admitted hacking the company.

According to Reuters, it will take a long time to prove SAP stole its software making an out-of-court settlement attractive for both parties.

SAP unexpectedly admitted in a court filing that a subsidiary had improperly downloaded software from Oracle, however it denied that it  stole Oracle code.
Oracle now has to find evidence that SAP had actually accessed any stolen software code which will be a long and painstaking investigation.

Security experts say that could take a month, or even a few years. Then if Oracle gets the case to court, it will take years after that before there is a resolution.
