Will admit thousands to Xbox Live Update Preview

As we told you yesterday, Microsoft is getting closer to the release of the Xbox 360 Summer System Update and the company had decided to start taking applications from users to apply for the reported 1,000 available slots in what Microsoft is calling the Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program.

Just signing up does not insure you a spot in the Xbox LIVE Update Preview Program, but you along with “multiple thousands” in all regions will vie for slots. To apply, you will have to fill out a short survey that asks questions such as what is the serial number of your Xbox; who is your ISP; and what is the make and model of the router or firewall that you use. They want to test the update on a wide cross-section of consoles and gamers, so depending how exotic your configuration is or is not, may (or may not) increase your chances of getting into the preview program.

If you happen to make it in, you will likely hear from Microsoft in about a week. Make sure your Email works, as that is how they will notify you.

Roll the dice, and if you want a sneak peek sign up here.
