Five Designo MS LCDs

Asus has announced a rather sleek and quite interesting looking line of LCD monitors, the new Designo MS Series. All of these five newly announced monitors are 16.5mm thick and feature a rather interesting ring-shaped stand.

On the design side, the new Designo MS Series is a winner at first sight, at least according to Asus' pictures. The glossy front finish might cause some issues with direct sunlight but from the design side it looks very good. The line will include models ranging from 20-inch to 23.6-inch, while three out five will support Full HD 1920x1080 resolution. All of them have a 250cd/m2 brightness and 50,000:1 Asus "smart contrast ratio".

The top offer is the MS246H/D 23.6-inch Full HD wide screen (16:9) monitor with 2ms of gray-to-gray response time, Asus' Trace Free and Splendid Video Intelligence technology, and HDMI, D-Sub and Eearphone outputs. The second one, MS236H/D has the same specs except for the fact that it has a 23-inch display.

The third one, MS226H is a 21.5-inch unit in full HD resolution as well but it comes with HDMI, D-Sub and HDMI Audio Out outputs. The last two, 20-inch (16:9) MS202N/D, 22-inch (16:10) MS226H are HDMI-less and a bit different by specs. The 22-inch MS227N has a 1680x1050 resolution and has DVI-D and D-sub outputs with same response time and same features like the previous three. The last one, 20-inch MS202N/D is apparently a mainstream part with 1600x900 resolution, DVI-D and D-Sub outputs, and a response time of 5ms.

Unfortunately, the price or the availability date haven't been announced, but we will surely keep our eye out in order to check out the price once they hit retail/e-tail. Here is the picture of the new Designo MS Series.
