Expects future transitions to be slower
TSMC Chairman and CEO Morris Chang announced that the chipmaker will be
part of an industry-wide drive to develop sub-14nm manufacturing
processes.
Chang expects the semi market growth to slow down by 2014 due to
numerous technological issues. Chang noted that foundries won't be able
to follow the pace set by Moore's Law, but he believes that 20nm
generation chips should arrive soon.
Chang doesn't expect the transition to 10nm to take place during his tenure.
