Wins against Asustek

Asustek Computer
lost its bid to produce 15.4-inch notebooks for Hewlett-Packard to Quanta Computer, with estimated shipments to HP alone for the notebook to be four million units in 2008.

Quanta is the world’s largest ODM notebook manufacturer and it is estimated that it will ship 30 million units in 2008, an increase of 2 million over the 28 million shipments scheduled for 2007.

Its big competitor FoxConn still claims it has no interest in acquiring Quanta, but we are not sure about that.
