Internet Explorer is the most influential technology product of the past 25 years , according to a survey of IT professionals.

The survey was carried out by the Computing Technology Industry Association. In the top five products only Apple's iPod is not a Microsoft product.

Internet Explorer,  got two-thirds of the vote, was launched in 1995, and was based on the Spyglass Mosaic browser. Microsoft Word was chosen by more than half of the respondents with Windows 95 was third, followed by Microsoft Excel and the iPod.

According to News.com the other products that made the top 10 include the BlackBerry, Photoshop, McAfee VirusScan, Netscape Navigator and the PalmPilot.
