Quite fast for the buck

Nvidia plans to unveil its Geforce 9600GT, a chip based on D9P or G94 GPU, and we can tell you that this will be the best mainstream chip to date.

The reference card runs at 650MHz core with 64 Shaders, but some retail cards will break the 700MHz clock out of the box and all this can be achieved with a single slot cooler. Some partners will prefer go for dual clock cooler at over 700MHz simply to be on the safe side.

When overclocked, Geforce 9600GT in most cases runs faster than 3850, and it even gives the Radeon 3870 a run for its money.
