Powercolor has announced that it will soon launch a couple of ATI TV Wonder cards. Powercolor's offering will include two TV tuners, one based on ATI Theater 650 Pro chip and other will be based on ATI Theater 600 Pro chip.

The cheaper one, branded PowerColor ATI TV Wonder 600, will use ATI Theater 600 with support for software MPEG-2 compression, and this one will use PCI-Express x1 slot. Other specs of ATI Theater 600 chip include an advanced 5-line 2D comb filter, automatic color control and automatic gain control. Both cards offer Free-to-air Digital TV (DVB-T), standard analog TV (PAL/SECAM) and FM radio options.

The more expensive card, branded Powercolor ATI TV Wonder 650 PCI, is based on the ATI Theater 650 Pro chip and will use a plain PCI slot. Beside the same specs as the 600, this one also features motion adaptive 3D comb filter, noise reduction and edge enhancement. The most important thing about ATI TV Wonder 650 is the hardware MPEG-2 compresion, which does high quality capture with low CPU utilization.
