Three RV670 MXM modules on a single PCB

According to
a news post over at NordicHardware, Asus is working on a strange solution which includes three RV670 MXM modules strapped onto a single PCB. This card is currently going under the name of Trinity, although we'll have to see if it makes it as far as retail.

Two of the MXM modules are located on the back of the PCB and one is located on the front. According to the article, Asus engineers haven't yet decided on the amount of memory for these MXM cards, but 512MB sounds reasonable. The card has an additional 8-pin PCI-E power connector, and it will feature four DVI connectors. The entire Trinity contraption is cooled by an external water-cooling solution and heatpipes.

There is no inforomation about the clock speed of these GPUs or the memory. According to the same article, this card actually works, but if it ever will be available is still unknown. It looks interesting and we can only hope that it won't be as "popular" as Gecube's Gemini and Sapphire's dual GPU cards.

You can find the article here.
