Akimbo series

EVGA has released a new card based on the G92 8800GT core, as a part of its recently introduced AKIMBO series. The new 8800 GT Akimbo will feature dual slot cooling and 1GB of GDDR3 memory. The confusion starts when you notice that this card has reference clocks, like the entire Akimbo series.

The new Akimbo branded card works at 600MHz for the GPU, 1500MHz for Shaders and 1,800MHz for the mentioned 1GB of GDDR3 memory. Even with a dual slot cooling solution EVGA has decided to keep this card at reference clocks. This card can probably go higher, but that will be something that buyers will have an option to do.

The card is currently available directly from EVGA's web-shop, priced at US$299.99. You can find the card here.
