With the launch of Nvidia's 9800GX2 and 9800GTX behind us, we now have announcements of water-blocks that should help cool down those new Nvidia GPUs. Vadim, Aqua Computer and Asetek are the first companies to have these water-blocks.

First in line was Vadim Computers, with two water-blocks, a modular design waterblock for 9800GTX and one for the 9800 GX2. While the 9800 GTX water-block is going to sell for $49, the GX2 will have a bit higher price tag of $115. Aqua Computer went for the GX2, and its water-block is made out of 2 pure copper plates that feature an extremely thin design with a total weight under 800g. It can be yours for €129.99, and if you want it preinstalled on the 9800GX2 with Aqua Computer's warranty, be sure to have €619.90.

Asetek also went for the 9800GX2 card, but it took a slightly different approach. Asetek decided to implement its hybrid cooling concept, the same one we had a chance to see on the 8800GTX card. The mentioned hybrid concept cools the GPU with a liquid plate, while the memory and the rest of the card are cooled by a fan. Water-cooling helps to lower the temps of the GPU by 25°C  compared to the reference cooled card, and the fan is producing 22dBA of noise for the rest of the card.

As always, Asetek's GX2 cooling system is going to OEMs and the price is still unknown.
