PCS cooling and a football bundle

Powercolor has launched a new, special edition HD 3870 card that will be cooled by Powercolor's PCS (Professional Cooling Series). The new PCS cooler is courtesy of ZeroTherm. Other features include the use of 1ns DDR3 memory, and a ball as a bundle.

The new card works at 775MHz for the core, and as mentioned, the card comes with 512MB of 1ns DDR3 memory probably clocked at full 1000MHz (2GHz effective). The cooling is performed by Powercolor's PCS cooler, which should keep the GPU cool and might even leave some room for an additional overclocking.

To properly announce this card, Powercolor has launched the Freestyle worldwide competition. All that Powercolor wants is to get your personal football video and send it to them to pick the best one; of course, we mean soccer. Once you do it, you'll have a chance to win two of these new HD3870 512MB DDR3 cards. Austria and Switzerland are about to host European football championships and, therefore, football tends to be a big thing, at least here in Europe.

The 2nd place prize includes one new HD 3870 512MB DDR3 card, and the 3rd place will get you a Powercolor HD 3850 card. There are prizes for up to 10th place, but we all want those first two.

You can check out the competition here.
