With 384MB of GDDR3 memory

Point of View has announced its own renamed 8800GS that is now officially called the 9600GSO. POV's version comes with reference clocks and a single-slot cooler.

The card works at 550MHz for the core, and as mentioned it has 384MB of 1.1ns GDDR3 memory clocked at 800MHz (1600MHz effective). As with every other 9600 GSO, this one also uses a 192-bit memory bus and support for PCI-Express 2.0, DirectX 10 and Shader Model 4.0. The card also has 96 stream processors clocked at 1350MHz.

According to the press release, the mentioned single-slot cooler keeps the card cool and quiet, and it also has some overclocking potential. It looks like Point of View has decided to leave the overclocking to its customers.

The card should be available soon, and you should expect it to retail at around €100.
