HP loads Linux on mass-market PC

Linux advocate, HP has released a mass-market PC with pre-installed Linux.

According to Desktop Linux HP has not installed Linux on its mainstream catalogue until now.

The plan is to sell Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop 5 on its HP dx2250 PC, in Australia. RHEL Desktop 5 is a business Linux desktop and it will be sold pre-loaded.

This model is normally pitched at the low-end business market and was previously offered this desktop computer with a choice of Vista Business, XP, and FreeDOS.

A RHEL equipped dx2250 price will start at US $489.
